Pascagoula is 18 miles (29 km) to the southeast via U.S. Route 90, and Biloxi is 6 miles (10 km) to the southwest, across Biloxi Bay. According to the United States Census Bureau, the Gulf Hills CDP has a total area of 8.1 square miles (21.1 km 2), of which 7.6 square miles (19.8 km 2) are land and 0.50 square miles (1.3 km 2), or 6.03%, are water.
