Joliet Junior College (JJC) is a public community college in Joliet, Illinois. Founded in 1901, it was the first public community college founded in the United States. [3] In Spring 2014, the college enrolled 16,375 students. [4] Every year, 48,000 students enroll in the college's academic programs and in non-credit programs.
He is additionally commemorated in the city of Joliet: The street fronting Joliet Junior College, which he attended, was renamed Houbolt Road; a mural in Joliet Union Station includes a Lunar Module, in reference to his work for NASA; and a wing of the Joliet Area Historical Museum became a permanent exhibit to celebrate his achievements. Thomas Minnick (born c. 1968) is an American junior college football coach. He was the head football coach for Joliet Junior College from 2006 to 2007, [2] Arizona Western College from 2008 to 2018, [3] and Garden City Community College from 2019 to 2023.

Giarrante is a lifelong Joliet resident who attended Sacred Heart Grade School, Joliet Catholic High School, and Joliet Junior College. He spent 22 years as a firefighter, serving as president of the Joliet Firefighters Local 44 for 16 years. Giarrante has served on the Joliet Park Board and the Joliet Public Service Committee.
