Michigan's congressional districts since January 3, 2023. Michigan is divided into 13 congressional districts, each represented by a member of the United States House of Representatives. [1] The districts are currently represented in the 119th United States Congress by 7 Republicans and 6 Democrats.
The original route of the East Michigan Pike included a section along the coast of The Thumb between Bay City and Port Huron and used the same route as the Dixie Highway north of Bay City. Backers of this auto trail lost out in terms of name recognition to the Dixie Highway, relegating the East Michigan Pike to the list of failed auto trails. [17]

M-123 also has a rare signed concurrency with a County-Designated Highway in Michigan; in Trout Lake, there is a concurrency with H-40. All of M-123 north of M-28 is a Scenic Heritage Route within the Michigan Heritage Route system. The highway was first designated before 1936 along a section of its current routing.
M-46 is an east–west state trunkline highway in the US state of Michigan between Muskegon and Port Sanilac, terminating near Lake Michigan and Lake Huron on each end. Except for the north–south segment that corresponds with the US Highway 131 (US 131) freeway between Cedar Springs and Howard City, M-46 is practically a due east–west surface highway.
It was already labeled the Michigan–Detroit–Chicago Highway on travel maps of the time, so the paper suggested that the roadway should be renamed to create the longest street in the country. Both Chicago and Detroit had streets named Michigan Avenue, so that is what the newspaper suggested for a new name.
The Michigan State Highway Department (MSHD) used the M-13 designation for a highway at the end of 1932 that connected M-78 and M-21 through Lennon. [2] By the middle of 1936, the highway had been extended northward to end at a junction with M-46 in Saginaw. [17] The entire trunkline was paved in the middle of 1939.
