Elizabeth I became Queen of England in 1558 following the death of her Catholic half-sister Mary I.

Francis Procter (21 June 1812 – 24 August 1905) was an English Anglican clergyman and liturgist known for his history of the Book of Common Prayer, the official liturgical book of the Church of England. His A History of the Book of Common Prayer, with a Rationale of its Offices was first published in 1855.
