The Embassy of Germany in Kyiv is Germany's diplomatic mission to Ukraine. [1] The Federal Republic of Germany has since 1989 been officially represented in Ukraine, first by the Consulate General in Kyiv, since January 1992, after the Ukrainian independence in 1991, with a diplomatic mission.
Ambassadors are the highest-ranking diplomats of Ukraine and are usually based at the embassy in the host country. They are under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) and answer directly to the Minister of Foreign Affairs ; however, ambassadors serve "at the pleasure of the President", meaning they can be dismissed at any time.
