This movement began in the 1990s, started by San Francisco art students who made their art in public places. Mission School was a graffiti movement that developed for these students to get recognition for their work. Clarion Alley is a small street between Mission and Valencia Streets and 17th and 18th Streets in the Mission District in San Francisco, California. It is notable for the murals painted by the Clarion Alley Mural Project .

[1] He is known for a large piece he painted on the concrete bank of the Los Angeles River in 1997.
