Green Mountain is a mountain summit on the eastern flank of the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains of North America. The 8,148-foot (2,484 m) peak is located in Boulder Mountain Park , 4.2 miles (6.8 km) southwest by south ( bearing 219°) of downtown Boulder in Boulder County , Colorado , United States .
Old mining roads can be followed to hike along the ridge southwest to Green Mountain. From there, an off-trail ridge hike leads west to the summit. This class 2 route is 3.6 miles (5.8 km) and the elevation gain is 1,850 feet (564 m). [13] [14]
The mountain is located 20 miles (32 km) west-northwest of Boulder in the Indian Peaks Wilderness, on land managed by Arapaho National Forest and Roosevelt National Forest. It is the 19th-highest summit in the wilderness and 28th-highest in Boulder County. [ 3 ]
