The 1913 Epsom Derby, sometimes referred to as "The Suffragette Derby", was a horse race which took place at Epsom Downs on 4 June 1913. It was the 134th running of the Derby. The race was won, controversially, by Aboyeur at record 100–1 odds.

Aboyeur was a fine-looking [1] bay horse bred in Ireland by Thomas Kennedy Laidlaw. [2] His sire Desmond was a good racehorse who won the Coventry Stakes and the July Stakes in 1898 and went on to become a successful stallion, earning the title of Champion sire in 1913. [3]
Sefton (1875–1891) was a British Thoroughbred racehorse and sire.In a career that lasted from 1877 to 1878 he ran thirteen times and won three races. He showed little promise as a two-year-old, but developed into a leading colt the following year, when his wins included the 1878 Epsom Derby.
