Acapulco Dorado had its development between the 1950s and the 1970s, and is about 25 minutes from the Acapulco International Airport. It is the area that presents the most tourist influx in the port, runs through much of the Acapulco bay, from Icacos, passing through Costera Miguel Aleman Avenue, which is the main one, to Papagayo Park.

The Battle of Acapulco were a series of battles during the Second French intervention in Mexico. Acapulco was a key port of the Pacific trade routes and thus changed hands several times in the course of the Franco-Mexican war. In this period the population of the city had decreased from 6000 to 2000. [7]

Isla El Morro, Isla del Morro or Farallón del Obispo is a small, rocky island in Acapulco Bay, about 200 m in front of the beach Playa Condesa. At the northern side is a landing. From there, along a collapsing staircase, the highest point can be reached, where eroding installations of a former fountain from the eighties can be found.
