Katarina Mary Johnson-Thompson, MBE (born 9 January 1993) [1] is an English athlete.A multi-eventer, she is primarily known as both a heptathlete and an indoor pentathlete.In heptathlon she is a double world champion, double Commonwealth Games champion and an Olympic and European silver medallist.
Johnson-Thompson finished in second, just 32 points behind Thiam. With this victory, Thiam became the most successful athlete in Olympic heptathlon history, as she is now the only athlete with 3 gold medals in the event. Johnson-Thompson's silver medal meant she won her first Olympic medal at her fourth Olympics.
In the first event Ennis-Hill was the expected top finisher with 12.84 seconds (her best in a championship since the London Olympics). Theisen-Eaton was off her best at 13.18 and Johnson-Thompson was a tenth off her own. The top three performers were rounded out by Barbadian Akela Jones (13.00) and Dutchwoman Nadine Visser (13.02).
