All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bilaspur (AIIMS Bilaspur) [2] is an Indian public medical school, hospital and an Institute of National importance in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh, India. It is one of the All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMSs).
The institution runs a medical college within the campus. The medical college has 50 UG (MBBS) seats. As the construction of the campus is not completed, classes of the first batch were taken at the Ramanathapuram Medical College. The college started with 50 students in April 2022, from the academic session 2021–2022. [1] [9]
The foundation stone of AIIMS Delhi was laid in 1952. [2] The first AIIMS was established in 1956 under the All India Institute of Medical Sciences Act, 1956. [3] Originally proposed to be established in Calcutta, it was established in New Delhi following the refusal of Chief Minister of West Bengal Bidhan Chandra Roy. [4]

Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Harsh Vardhan virtually inaugurated the first academic batch of MBBS students 21 December 2020 for the 2020-21 batch. [3] The institute became operational with the first batch of 50 MBBS students, one of the four AIIMSs to become operational in academic year 2020–21.
