Lone Star Park is a horse racing track and entertainment destination located 1 ⁄ 2 mile north of Interstate 30 on Belt Line Road in Grand Prairie, Texas.Lone Star Park has two live racing seasons every year; the spring Thoroughbred season generally runs from early April through mid-July, and the Fall Meeting of Champions generally runs from early September through mid-November.

The new owner renamed the track Trinity Meadows and was one of the first horse racing tracks opened once Texas legalized parimutuel betting. The track opened in May 1991 with first year profit of $1.8 million and $1.3 the following year. Retama park last held a Thoroughbred meet in 2019 and in 2021 held a 20 day quarter horse meet. In 2023 they planned to have a 23 day QH meet starting June 29 but were forced to cancel due to a critical power outage, resulting in the park’s cancellation of evening horse races, as well as races scheduled for the following day.
The inaugural running of the event was on 20 April in 1997 as the Texas Mile Stakes and was won by Isitingood who was trained by the US Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert and owned by Michael E. Pegram & Terry Henn in a time of 1:34.44. [1]
