The company had wanted to move away from being open 24 hours for a long time. Covid just gave them the perfect excuse to do it. Being open 24 hours is a nice convenience for customers, but it doesn't really make Walmart any money.
That doesn't sound like something that walmart would text you. I already work overnight I'm pretty sure we would've been informed if we were going 24 hour. I don't foresee walmart ever going back to 24 hours, certainly not in the near future.
as a former walmart employee, hell no i don't want 24/7 to come back. that shit sucked ass, the amount of weirdos and drug addicts we had to deal with. not to mention working that shift is depressing as hell. i'd leave right when the over night shift was coming in, good lord they had no day life, they were mostly miserable, and had to work ...
Walmart used to be 24 hours because a lot of us work different shifts than the day shift. Now, it's just like any other corporation - too cheap for wages, too cheap for customer service, too cheap for warranties, managers so want that bonus money that the employees wear old style Walmart uniforms because they don't want to spend money on new ...
Walmart being open 24 hours was only a pain. There is a large crew of overnight stockers (no jobs were lost) that need room to put the freight and not worry about shoppers. Staying open for one insomniac or person who got off work at the bar was not worth the shrink from the drug addicts and teenagers messing around and stealing, plus the time ...
Only able to shop between 11pm and 6am due to work hours and only one vehicle. (I have to have vehicle to make it work, and too much for partner to drop me off and pick me back up) Stuck having to shop at 7/11, by the time I can remotely make it to Walmart, I have only about 15 minutes to shop and check out.
Walmart is losing zero sales by not being open. Most morning sales at my super center weren’t even $8,000 between 12-6 am. Less damage, less idiots playing bumper cars with the ride ons, less theft, less payroll (no cashiers needed) and making the same money in sales for the day? I don’t think we’ll see a 24 hour Walmart for a long, long ...
I Fully Agree There Are Some Convenient Stores That Stays Open For 24 Hrs, It Pisses Me Off When Walmart Closes Because It Closes Right Before I Get My EBT And I Don't Get Much On My EBT Anyways And So We (My Fiance And I) Have To Sacrifice A Little Over 10 Bucks At A Convenient Store Which Takes EBT Because Most Place That Are Relatively Close To Us Don't Accept EBT Or Have Completely Stopped ...
Grocery stores open 24/7 - I understand why grocery stores and drug stores are not open 24 hours a day now. However it seems like there could be at least one or two stores that still stay open 24 hours in the city.
Ok I remember when before most walmarts where 24 hours. In the 90's I was talking to a friend in management at walmart I was told that aside from giving people opportunity to shop in off hours, the stores insurance rates dropped significantly and it was more profitable to stay open.
