The 1951 General Assembly gave the Director of the Division of Fish and Game discretionary powers to issue orders regulating the hunting and killing of deer. A hunt plan including regulations was formulated and submitted to the Director of Fish and Game. The first open deer hunting season in 58 years was held November 1, 2, and 3, 1951.
I bought mine in December 1987 for (IIRC) $325 for comprehensive hunting. The deer tags were slated to go up in 1988 and since the LTL price was based on the annual fee the LTL was going to double. My lifetime license number is 14XX. Back then the DNR mailed your deer licenses to you.
I think I paid $325 for the comprehensive hunting license. They were raising the hunting license prices in 1988 so the LTL was going up more. Last Edit: Oct 12, 2022 16:03:02 GMT -5 by Woody Williams
