Inter-universal Teichmüller theory is a continuation of Mochizuki's previous work in arithmetic geometry. This work, which has been peer-reviewed and well received by the mathematical community, includes major contributions to anabelian geometry, and the development of p-adic Teichmüller theory, Hodge–Arakelov theory and Frobenioid categories.
The arithmetic billiard for the numbers 15 and 40: the greatest common divisor is 5, the least common multiple is 120. In recreational mathematics, arithmetic billiards provide a geometrical method to determine the least common multiple and the greatest common divisor of two natural numbers. It makes use of reflections inside a rectangle which ...

German mathematician Carl Friedrich Gauss said, "Mathematics is the queen of the sciences—and number theory is the queen of mathematics." Number theory also studies the natural, or whole, numbers. One of the central concepts in number theory is that of the prime number , and there are many questions about primes that appear simple but whose ...
The examination paper comprises 30 problems to be solved over 3 Hours. The composition of the paper is 2 marker, 3 marker, and 5 marker problems. Stage 2 or Regional Mathematical Olympiad: The RMO is held between late October and early November across the country. The examination paper comprises six problems to be solved over 3 hours.
Russia has been banned from participating in the Olympiad since 2022 as a response to its invasion of Ukraine. [28] Nonetheless, a limited number of students (specifically, 6) are allowed to take part in the competition and receive awards, but only remotely and with their results being excluded from the unofficial team ranking.
There are two written papers, each comprising half of the weightage towards the subject. Each paper is 2 hours 15 minutes long and worth 90 marks. Paper 1 has 12 to 14 questions, while Paper 2 has 9 to 11 questions. Generally, Paper 2 would have a graph plotting question based on linear law. It was originated in the year 2003 [3]
The International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM) is the largest conference for the topic of mathematics. It meets once every four years, hosted by the International Mathematical Union (IMU). The Fields Medals , the IMU Abacus Medal (known before 2022 as the Nevanlinna Prize), the Gauss Prize , and the Chern Medal are awarded during the ...
