Michael Jackson wrote a song called "Little Susie." On youtube, the video states in a caption at the begining that one can download the song and calls it "Little Susie/pie jesu," but the words "pie jesu" do not appear in the song -- though it is a memorial. Can someone explain why the words "pie jesu" would appear if the words are not in the song?
Like Fauré in his Requiem, Duruflé's omits most of the liturgical Dies irae, but sets its part Pie Jesu. He includes Libera me and In Paradisum, from the burial service, again like Fauré, focused on calmness and a meditative character. The central movement, Pie Jesu, has the only solo for the mezzo-soprano.
The later requiem in D minor was recorded by the same choir, orchestra and conductor, and released by EMI in 1987. Boston Baroque recorded the C-minor Requiem under Martin Pearlman in 2007 for Telarc.
