The Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) is the principal set of rules regarding Government procurement in the United States, [1] and is codified at Chapter 1 of Title 48 of the Code of Federal Regulations, 48 CFR 1. The procurement process is subject to legislation and regulation separate from the authorization and appropriation process.
