PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya, Khanapara (informally K.V. Khanapara or K.V.K) is a co-educational school in Guwahati, Assam, India. It is part of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) and affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). It is the oldest Kendriya Vidyalaya in the North-Eastern region of India.
The administration of this body is based on three levels. The chairman of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan is always the Minister in Charge of the Ministry of Education of the Government of India; the deputy chairman is the Minister of State of the Ministry of Education. The real working power lies with the Commissioner of KVS.
The Kendriya Vidyalayas are a network of central government-overseen schools in India, formed under the aegis of the Ministry of Education, affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), headquartered in New Delhi.
The school was established in 1981 and has now grown to more than a thousand students. The school has 3 sections each from class I to Xth while the +2 level has three streams - Arts, Commerce and Science (PCM and PCB). Just like all other KVs, it strictly follows the CBSE guidelines, curriculum and calendar.
