Its county seat is Charlottesville, which is an independent city entirely surrounded by the county. [2] Albemarle County is part of the Charlottesville Metropolitan Statistical Area. As of the 2020 census, the population was 112,395. [3]

Greenwood is an unincorporated community in Albemarle County, Virginia, United States.It is home to the Greenwood Country Store and the Greenwood Community Center, [2] which has the area's only roller skating rink.
