Mattimeo is a fantasy novel by Brian Jacques, published in 1989. It is the third book in the Redwall series. It is also one of the three Redwall novels to be made into a television series , alongside its self-titled novel (Season 1) and " Martin the Warrior " (Season 3).

In the mid-80's Lyon designed a series of cover illustrations for Brian Jacques’ Redwall children's novel series, including the UK cover for the first novel, Redwall (1986), and then for Mossflower (1988), and Mattimeo in 1989. In 1985, Lyon produced the cover for the hardback version of the novel The Skook by Emmy-nominated author J P Miller.

Mattimeo and the others are introduced to the underground empire of Malkariss by the rat Nadaz. Matthias and the others figure out that Malkariss is what once was Loamhedge Abbey.
