Zilwaukee was founded in 1848 when Daniel and Solomon Johnson, two brothers from New York City, built a saw mill there. [citation needed]Zilwaukee Bridge at sunset. John Baird (February 11, 1860 – November 8, 1934) was an American politician from Michigan. He was a Republican politician and served in the Michigan House of Representatives in 1895 and in the Michigan Senate from 1901 to 1905.
