Bear Country USA is a drive-through wildlife park and zoo in the Black Hills near Rapid City, South Dakota. Founded in 1972, the park is noted for its bears, but also hosts other North American wildlife, such as wolves, elk, mountain lions, and buffalo.

Bear Country was a fun car trip. The park is laid out in a safari-like format where the animals wander within fenced areas. Unlike a zoo the bears, long horn sheep, elk and buffalo stroll aimlessly and happily in a fairly natural environment.

The walking portion of Bear Country USA was great and had many animals I've never seen in any other zoo like a badger, arctic foxes, fisher cats, otters, and prairie dogs. The walking paths are wide, and the animal enclosures are nice and well-kept.
