The first SH 151 was designated on March 19, 1930, from Mason to Menard as a renumbering of SH 29A.On February 11, 1938, SH 151 was extended west to Eldorado. [2] On April 29, 1942, the section of SH 151 west of Menard was cancelled and renamed FM 43, with the section west of the roadway north of the San Saba River 6.5 miles (10.5 km) west of US 83 cancelled.
Wurzbach Parkway is a part freeway and part major arterial road in San Antonio, Texas, built to provide relief on Interstate 410 (I-410) and Loop 1604 on the city's north side. The highway is named for Harry M. Wurzbach , who represented the San Antonio area in Congress as a Republican in the 1920s and 1930s.

Two months later the road was extended over SH 183 to US 77 at a traffic circle and east over then-SH 114 back to Loop 12, completing the loop around Dallas.

On January 18, 1946, the road was extended west to US 281. On January 22, 1957, the road extended northwest to US 59 at or near the Live Oak/McMullen County Line. On August 28, 1958, the road was extended northwest to the McMullen/La Salle County Line. On April 30, 1959, the road was extended west to I-35 at or near Artesia Wells.
On June 14, 1947, a 2.7 miles (4.3 km) extension on its eastern end, brought the loop back to the west to Military Road. On July 15, 1949, it was extended further from Military Road to US 281. The loop saw its final extension on June 25, 1952, an extension that completed the loop around the city.
