The first two VOSH Texas clinics of this year were highly successful. We were a little short of ODs for the spring clinic with only 3 in attendance, but by working late we managed to care for over 300 patients, sending over 100 for cataract surgery. We always have a great surgical team to refer to.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS. The Board of Directors is a volunteer position, serving 3 year terms as Directors. The President, Vice President and Immediate Past President serve 2 year terms in each position.
Every clinic is organized and run by individual trip leaders and hosts. Therefore, the arrangements, costs, and trip details vary. If you’re interested in volunteering or finding out more, please contact the person listed with each humanitarian clinic.
Annual Meeting 2024 -US Version. This year our Annual Meeting will be organized in two versions. This year’s theme is “ Addressing eye health care inequalities through leadership and collaboration”. There are significant inequalities in access to vision and eye health care worldwide.
VOSH Provides Optometric Equipment to Clinics and Locales In Need. The VOSH Technology Transfer Program (TTP) collects, restores and ships used optometric equipment, lenses and frames to needy clinics, teaching institutions, hospitals and NGOs where it can lead a new purpose and change lives.
Once again, we close out the year on a positive note. Our VOSH Texas year began on March 17 th with the spring clinic in Guerrero where 28 US VOSH volunteers including 2 ophthalmologists, 4 ODs & 11 SVOSH students, (9 from the University of Houston and 2 from SUNY), joined with 61 Mexican volunteers, including 5 Mexican ophthalmologists, to provide vision screenings for 1764 patients, 708 in ...

Special glasses are being made by volunteer labs and opticians in America for 137 patients whose needs could not be met by our inventory of glasses. Our VOSH ARIZONA volunteers from Tucson and Phoenix were joined by volunteers from North Dakota, Oregon and California.
