Firefighter. 11710 posts · Joined 2007. #8 · Oct 15, 2016. Depending on the weight of the gun, recoil for the 450 varies between 15 and 20 ftlbs. For reference, a 3" 20 gauge load rattles your cage at 30 ftlbs. A 44 mag has 11 ftlbs.
Ballistics are better than the 450BM with noticeably less recoil. Much lighter bullets offered than the 400L offering equal ballistics to the 308 win with 180 grain bullets out to nearly 300 yards. The BC effects the bullet beyond that range lowering the performance of the 308 beyond that. Probably still a 400 yard rifle.
Rather this is a question as to why the 44 lever gun isn’t as popular as the 30-30. The 44 mag. can launch a 180 gr bullet about as fast as the 30-30 does with a 170 gr out of its short barrel. Plus, the 44 can shoot 300 gr bullets at just north of 1000 fps. It isn’t blistering fast but will certainly penetrate just about anything if your ...
My latest is a comparison of the 6.5 Grendel and 350 Legend. The 6.5 Grendel is an impressive little cartridge and if you don't hunt exclusively in the limited firearm zone, you should take a look at it. 6 pounds of recoil, uber long barrel life, and killing deer to 350 or 400-yards. Even if you like what you have, it's worth knowing about.
a low recoil 30-06 round will probably employ a 150 grain bullet, which is plenty for deer. that 150 grain round will probably be a soft point of some kind, relatively thinly jacketed. that's also perfectly fine for deer. the soft point will promote good expansion at the lower speeds. as huntsman pointed out, the maximum point blank range will ...
A 20-gauge shotgun produces between 11 and 19 ft-lbs of recoil energy depending on the load that is used. Most people find the recoil of a 20-gauge shotgun to be similar to that of a 6.5 Creedmoor rifle. The recoil is mild for any adult and most youth shooters.

Everyone is trying to get the most out of 450 Bushmaster with high velocity been there done it board with it....I've gone the other way get the most out of Sub-Sonic or low velocity in the 45 Colt range 1020 fps to 1300 fps loads. These are not loads that will function in a AR but could be loaded ...
350 legend results. This was the 2nd year for the 350 legend, savage axis. Completely happy with the results.last year took 2 bucks and a doe. All 3 were behind shoulder shots broadside double lung bucks were shot with Winchester 180 both ran about 100 yds not a lot of blood, but not hard to find. Doe was shot with beer creek ammo, broadside ...
This is also a good opportunity to have the LOP custom fit to you, which will help in the amount of perceived recoil. I don't know about the model number, but I prefer the Sporting Clays model Decellerator pads. They have a small hard plastic insert right at the top of the pad which aids in shouldering the rifle/shotgun.
