Uzalo is a South African soap opera produced by Stained Glass Productions, which is co-owned by Kobedi "Pepsi" Pokane and Gugu Zuma-Ncube. It began airing in 2015, quickly becoming a hit due to its compelling narrative , writing , direction and the performances of the relatively-unknown cast. [ 1 ]
Its first season and 16 episodes of the second season were aired on the channel, and the rest of the series was broadcast on Star TV. [1] Each episode is 90 to 150 minutes long. Producer Timur Savcı said in July 2013 that the series would end in March 2014, [ 2 ] but it concluded with 139 episodes on June 11, 2014.
However, his most prominent role is his portrayal of the ruthless crime lord Nkunzebomvu "Nkunzi" Mhlongo on the most viewed television show in South Africa Uzalo. [ 10 ] [ 11 ] [ 12 ] He has also appeared in several TV series such as Scandal! , Shreads and Dreams, Rhythm City , Intersexions, Sokhulu & Partners, and Making Cents with the Sitholes.
Then he made the supportive role "Sibonelo" on the soap opera Uzalo. [1] In mid 2019, he acted in the feature film The Turning Son with the role "Vusi Ndlovu" and then acted in the 2020 film Rage of a Lioness with the role "Siya". Apart from acting, he is also a singer. He released the gqom song Pick & Choose along with Vukani Khoza. [12]
In 2013, he acted in the SABC 1soap opera Uzalo by playing the role "G.C.". [9] The show became very popular and he won the Best Supporting Actor award at the Simon Sabela Awards for his role. In 2016, he participated as a model at the Durban Fashion Fair. [ 2 ]
