Johnson & Wales University (JWU) is a private university with its main campus in Providence, Rhode Island. Founded as a business school in 1914 by Gertrude I. Johnson and Mary T. Wales, JWU enrolled 7,357 students across its campuses in the fall of 2020. [6] The university is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education.
The Outlet Company was formed in 1891 when brothers Joseph and Leon Samuels opened a department store at 176 Weybosset Street in downtown Providence. McNulty is better recognized, however, as a college administrator and, even more so, as a college athletic coach. After retiring from the U.S. Army in 1964, John McNulty was employed for 28 years, first, as the dean of students and, later, concurrently, as the athletic director at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island.
