[4] There are numerous interpretations of the name, which is from the language of the Kittitas American Indian Sahaptin language.
Washington's 8th congressional district is a district for the United States House of Representatives located in western Washington State. It includes the eastern portions of King, Pierce, and Snohomish counties, and crosses the Cascade Range to include Chelan and Kittitas counties, as well as a precinct in East Wenatchee in Douglas County.
The road connecting Quincy to points south, including Burke and the future settlement of George, appeared on local maps as early as 1910.
