Bob LaPoint (born 25 May 1955) is an American former professional water skier. During his career he set the world record on five occasions and won 15 major championships. In 2006 he was inducted into the Water Ski Hall of Fame. He is the younger brother of water skier Kris LaPoint.

American Alpine skier Nina O’Brien revealed she had a successful surgery to her left leg after suffering a brutal crash in the women’s giant slalom at the 2022 Winter Olympics.
Water skiing was one of two demonstration sports at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich.It was the only time that the sport was demonstrated at any Olympic Games. 35 participants from 20 countries took part in six events: slalom, figure skiing, and ski jump for each of men and women skiers.
