The 30th Asian Baseball Championship was an international professional baseball competition for Asian men's national teams. It was held in Taiwan (Taipei, New Taipei, and Taichung). It began on 3 December 2023 and ended on 10 December 2023. Japan won the championship, its 20th title.
The Asian Baseball Championship is the main championship tournament between national baseball teams in Asia, governed by the Baseball Federation of Asia (BFA). In addition to Latin America, The tournament is considered a major sporting event in East Asia, particularly in Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan.In Japan, nearly 100 million people watched the WBC in 2023, [6] and 55+ million people watched the end of the tournament, as Shohei Ohtani struck out Mike Trout.
In the 1970s, high school baseball tournaments expanded in popularity in South Korea, with the results of finals making frontpage news and winning teams given parades in their hometowns.
The Pakistani team has participated in many of the international and regional tournaments and has achieved many successes. It has won the Asian Baseball Championship (C level) title in 2010, where they won 10–0 against Hong Kong in the final round, [4] and five titles at the Asian Baseball Cup, winning the last tournament in 2015.
