Striped Trade Duffel Blankets in one size, reportedly the most traded blanket to the Native Americans before the 1760's and continued through the early 1800's. Wakefield Striped Duffel Blanket in one size, recreating a blanket that was documented in the 1710's, 1759, and in paintings from 1820/30's.
Mid 1920s Multi-Stripe. SEAL-A1 Red canvas label. 70x90". 6.4 lbs. Point Markings strong on both sides. 98 years old. $300. These vintage blankets are much better made than brand new models. They are soft and clean, smell great and are treated with lanolin for extra weather resistance.
These 2 labels are found on 99% of the 1953 Queen Elizabeth Coronation blankets. 100% wool type 1 and type 2. This 1937 King George the VI Coronation blanket only used the 1930s Stacked labels, pic below. It's Royal Blue with Red headers and points. Last edited: Sep 17, 2018.
I found 3 Hudson Bay Point Blankets at a local thrift store. I was able to get these blankets for $15.00! This kind of find never happens to me. 2 are 4 point blankets and one is a 6 point blanket. My question is, I know that all three blankets are worth alot, one of the 4 point blankets has a smaller red on white lable.
These Red embroidered Trademark labels were the very first to be sewn onto Hudson Bay Point blankets starting around 1890. And before this they sometimes used paper labels attached onto a corner with jute. If you read the last sentence in the description it says " There may be gold embroidered variants of this label ".
These solid colored blankets with the INK DOTTED labels are pretty rare. They were made by a smaller mill probably in Leeds. I've only seen a couple in the last 15 years including the one I own. They are unique without the header stripes! Mine is from the early 1900s it's solid black with white point markings.
10,450. Location. PNW. Oct 5, 2016. #1. Red on white canvas Scroll-A Label dates to the late 1920s. Rich Coyote color with dark Indigo headers and 4 point markings. Made in England. Dimensions 69x88" 4 Point.
Insulation from the ground AND protection from the wind is necessary, IMHO. The wind blows through the blankets I've slept in, Hudson Bay and Whitney. Go for a "nap" in the back yard, even during the day. Better to find out the one blanket camp isn't enough before you're a long way from home.
Yesterday at 8:35 PM. #1. Hudson bay 4 point blanket, I thought this had some small moth holes but can't find any now but it is possibleim missing them. Probably could use a cleaning if you want it for decoration or would make a good user blanket. Tried to price it accordingly at $125 shipped PayPal f&f or usps mo.
It's a Multi-Stripe SEAL-A2 labeled HBC 4 point from the mid 1920s. Only these older HBC blankets have this fur-like nap and thickness. Modern versions are completely made by machines and do not have this hand finished nap. A full weight antique point blanket will be thicker and warmer than even CJ WIlde's blankets.
