The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP, [bʱaːɾətiːjə dʒənətaː paːɾʈiː] ⓘ; lit. ' Indian People's Party ') is a political party in India and one of the two major Indian political parties alongside the Indian National Congress. [37] BJP was born out from Syama Prasad Mukherjee's Bharatiya Jana Sangh. [38]
The campaign follows the successful campaign in 2014 and 2019, where the BJP won a majority of the seats in the Lok Sabha. The national executive meeting of BJP held on 16 and 17 January 2023 saw the party reaffirm its faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and extend the tenure of BJP national president J. P. Nadda.
