Kim Jong-dae (Korean: 김종대; born September 21, 1992), better known by his stage name, Chen (Korean: 첸), is a South Korean singer and songwriter.He is a member of the South Korean boy band Exo, its subgroup Exo-M and its subunit Exo-CBX, and participated in SM's projects SM the Ballad.
Door is Chen's first EP since he and his Exo (and Exo-CBX) bandmates Xiumin and Baekhyun moved from SM Entertainment to the agency INB100. Chen stated that he "thought a lot about which songs to put in the album", and wanted to give fans "hope" with the lead single, "Empty".
Chen also added that not all songs in this EP are gloomy, stating that each song has their own personalities. [ 11 ] The EP begins with its lead single "Last Scene", which the singer described as a ballad song that goes well with the autumn season, since its lyrics explain how a breakup fades away. [ 11 ]
The group's prologue single, "What Is Love" was released on January 30, 2012. A second prologue single, "History" was released on March 9. On March 31, 2012, SM Entertainment unveiled a teaser trailer for the music video of the EP's title single, "Mama" at Exo's concert showcase in Seoul, South Korea.
