UPDATE 9/24 10:43 A.M. MARTINSVILLE, Va. (WFXR) – The Henry County Sheriff’s Office is reporting the threat made to Martinsville High School was allegedly made by a 15-year-old female student.
The pre-professional baseball team was founded in 2005 after the Martinsville Astros relocated following the 2003 season. In 2004, the City Council of Martinsville approved an effort to return baseball to Hooker Field with a city-owned franchise in the Coastal Plain League.
