New York's 39th congressional district was a congressional district for the United States House of Representatives in New York. It was created in 1913 as a result of the 1910 U.S. census . It was eliminated in 1983 as a result of the redistricting cycle after the 1980 census .
The largest communities in the district are Monroe and the City and Town of Newburgh. [1] [4] The district overlaps with New York's 17th, 18th, and 19th congressional districts, and with the 96th, 98th, 99th, 101st, 103rd, and 104th districts of the New York State Assembly. [5]
A glass-enclosed great hall, 100 feet (30 m) wide and 25 feet (7.6 m) high, spans the center of the courthouse, serving as a visual gateway through the complex.
