The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), a subsidiary of the American Nurses Association (ANA), is a certification body for nursing board certification and the largest certification body for advanced practice registered nurses in the United States, [1] as of 2011 certifying over 75,000 APRNs, including nurse practitioners and clinical nurse specialists.

The NLN was founded in 1893 as the American Society of Superintendents of Training Schools for Nurses and was the first organization for nursing in the U.S. [2]. In 1912, it was renamed the National League for Nursing Education (NLNE) [2] and released the first Standard Curriculum for Schools of Nursing in 1917.
The campus also contained a school for female students, the Saint Francis Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, which also founded in 1905. [6] After the 1906 San Francisco earthquake and fire , the hospital campus burned down and it was moved to a temporary location at 2828 California Street by Dr. Redmond Payne and volunteers. [ 2 ]
