West Coast Institute (formerly West Coast TAFE) is the TAFE institute servicing the northern suburbs of Perth, Western Australia.The institute, based in the Joondalup learning precinct 26 kilometres (16 mi) north of the Perth central business district, became part of North Metropolitan TAFE on 11 April 2016.
To the north of the Perth metropolitan area, in the suburb of Joondalup, North Metropolitan TAFE has two campuses on Kendrew Crescent and on McLarty Avenue. The Kendrew Crescent campus was the main campus of the former West Coast Institute, built in 1992.
Historically it was also known by the names of Perth Technical College, Central Metropolitan College of TAFE (CMC) and Central TAFE. On April 11, 2016 following a reform of all TAFEWA colleges, Central Institute of Technology amalgamated with West Coast Institute of Training and became known as North Metropolitan TAFE.
