Woodland House is a large detached house at 31 Melbury Road in the Holland Park district of Kensington and Chelsea, West London, England. Built from 1875 to 1877 in the Queen Anne style [ 3 ] by the architect Richard Norman Shaw , it is a Grade II* listed building. [ 2 ]
This photo of Woodlands House appeared in the November 1897 edition of Cassier's Magazine as part of an article about Alfred Yarrow. Angerstein extended Woodlands in the late 18th century, adding a west wing, conservatory, out-buildings and a stable and riding school (most of these were demolished after the sale of the Westcombe estates in 1876).
High Sunderland is a Modernist house built in woodland in the grounds of the 19th-century Sunderland Hall, between Selkirk and Galashiels in the Scottish Borders.It was designed in 1957 by Peter Womersley for the textile artist Bernat Klein and his wife Peggy, and completed in 1958.

The Woodlands Vale estate was first developed by Charles Coach in the 1820s. [1] In 1869 the property was bought by Augustus Gough-Calthorpe (1829-1910). [1] Gough-Calthorpe, third son of Frederick Gough, 4th Baron Calthorpe, succeeded to the title on the death of his elder brother, Frederick Gough-Calthorpe, 5th Baron Calthorpe, in 1893. [2]
