The C90 was introduced in 1947 as a follow-on to the A65, which had been in production since 1939. [7] [8] Many of the designs powered by the C90 are upgraded variants of earlier A65 powered designs, such as the Piper J-3 Cub and PA-11 Cub Special, [9] Aeronca 7AC, [3] and Luscombe 8A. [10] The engine was developed from the earlier O-190 by increasing the stroke 1 ⁄ 4 inch.

The Lycoming O-290 is a dual ignition, four-cylinder, air-cooled, horizontally opposed aircraft engine.It was first run in 1939, and entered production three years later. A common variant of the type is the O-290-G, a single ignition model which was designed to drive a generator as part of a ground power unit.

The Lycoming O-360 is a family of four-cylinder, direct-drive, horizontally opposed, air-cooled, piston aircraft engines. Engines in the O-360 series produce between 145 and 225 hp (110 and 170 kW), with the basic O-360 producing 180 hp (130 kW).
The prototype of the Robin HR100 was the prototype DR253 Regent which was rebuilt with metal wings and powered by a 180 hp (134 kW) Lycoming O-360 engine. It first flew on 3 April 1969 as the Robin HR100/180. The HR100 is a low-wing cantilever monoplane with a conventional cantilever tail unit and a fixed tricycle landing gear.
Waltz Blue/200 Tucker #1057 was the prototype being worked on by Tucker designer Alex Tremulis for the 1949 model year and may be the only 1949 model still in existence. #1057 was one of eight incomplete body shells (believed to be #1051–1058) left on the assembly line at the time the Tucker plant was closed.
