Cedar Creek was good for me and my little boy this afternoon, brush piles in 12-16’ were best. We also looked at boat docks and they were plentiful. I’ve got a few scattered dates in October if any of y’all want to come get in on this action, it’s pretty darn good!!

Took my wife out this morning crappie fishing. She not much on the hot summer time fishing but when the cooler weather hit she ready. Caught fish on brush piles and lay downs in 20 to 22 FOW on minnows.

Boat docks, brush piles and standing timber will hold these fish. I will be fishing Cedar Creek, Palestine and 2 other smaller lakes that won’t be published, everyone knows the numbers of crappie CC and Palestine have but those 2 other smaller lakes are incredibly impressing as well.

We caught 9 different species: bluegill, redear, crappie, smallies, lmb, white bass, blue cat, channel and a flathead. This was our total before catching some 😴 Leo went to bed fishing and woke up fishing He caught 4 more crappie before putting things away. All fish caught on JIFLYF jigs.

It seems to have a very good crappie and sandbass population, we caught 12 crappie and 42 whitebass in 2 hours. This lake was 17 feet above pool couple of months ago, there is alot of timber than is just under the surface today, that was clearly visible during a lower water year like 2023. Be careful with speed.
