James A. Lewis (born 1940) is an American attorney who served as the United States Attorney for the Central District of Illinois from 2010 to 2016. [1] [2] He graduated from Yale University in 1962, the University of Chicago Law School in 1966. Lewis earned Master of Laws degree from Duke University School of Law in 1975. [3]
He served as a law clerk for Judge Virginia Mary Kendall of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois from 2013 to 2014. From 2014 to 2023, he served as an assistant United States attorney in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Illinois. [2] [5]
