Velda Mound is a Native American archaeological site located in northern Tallahassee, Leon County, Florida, United States.The site was first occupied by peoples of the Fort Walton Culture (a regional variation of the Mississippian culture [1]) in the late prehistoric period and during the protohistoric period was part of the extensive Apalachee Province of the panhandle.
The large park has areas for such activities as trails for hiking and wooden tables for picnicking. [16] The Lake Jackson Mounds Archaeological State Park is recognized as part of the Native American Heritage Trail under the Florida Division of Historical Resources. There are also two trails available for hiking throughout the park.

Cascades Park is a 24-acre (97,000 m 2) park along the stream known as the St. Augustine Branch in Tallahassee, Florida, United States, south of the Florida State Capitol. [ 2 ] [ 3 ] It is a Nationally Registered Historic Place because it influenced the territorial government's choice of the capital city's location.
The park has miles of trails for hiking, bicycling, walking, and horseback riding through old fields, open pine woods, and mixed pine-hardwood forest. This environment is home to a variety of flora and fauna. The park is home to the annual Swamp Forest Trail Marathon, Half Marathon, and 6.5 Mile Run which takes place the first Saturday in January.
