Parabat Express (Train no. 709/710) is an intercity train operating between Dhaka and Sylhet, two major cities in Bangladesh.Since the inception of intercity train service in Bangladesh in 1986, it has been regarded as one of the most prestigious and luxurious trains in the country.
The Shonar Bangla Express (Train no. 787/788) is an inter-city rail service run by Bangladesh Railway. This service provides a swift and luxurious passenger rail connection between the capital of Bangladesh, Dhaka to the port city of Chattogram. After the Kolkata–Dhaka Maitree Express train was operational, it was proposed to name this second India–Bangladesh train on the Kolkata–Khulna route as 'Sonartari'. [3] But the same name is used in the railways and trains of both countries and hence it was omitted. Then the names Sampritee and Bandhan were offered.

After few days this train route extended up to Chapainawabganj. Now its running Chapainawabganj-Rajashahi to Dhaka. The train has modern facilities like bio-toilet, recliner chair, Wi-Fi connections, LED display, and save at least one and a half hour journey time than those of the existing three express trains plying between Dhaka and Rajshahi.
