The Capital Area Activities Conference (Or CAAC) is a high school sports league located in Central Michigan. It is a member of the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA). There are currently 21 member schools in the conference that come from the counties of Clinton , Eaton , Ingham , Ionia , and Livingston .

As of August 13, 2019, the MHSAA has 749 member high schools, comprising virtually all high school athletics in Michigan, public and private. Only a small number of private schools and a few nontraditional public schools in Michigan forgo MHSAA membership.

The Interstate 8 Athletic Conference is an athletic conference for high schools in Michigan formed in 2014 with eight schools in south central Michigan. The conference currently consists of seven Class A and B schools from Barry, Branch, Calhoun, and Jackson counties. The name of the conference derives from the I-69 and I-94 corridors.
With the exception of Bronson replacing Athens for the 2017–18 school year, things were very quiet in the Big "8" prior to 2022 with the exception of Concord switching to 8-man football in 2021 as they joined the Tri-River 8-man Football League but would remain a member of the Big "8" for all other sports.

The Kensington Lakes Activities Association (KLAA) is an athletic conference for high schools in Michigan.It was formed in the 2008-2009 school year as a result of the merger of the Kensington Valley Conference and the Western Lakes Activities Association, plus two other schools joining from the Oakland Activities Association and the newly built South Lyon East.
