Alamat (Baybayin: ᜀᜎᜋᜆ᜔; transl. Legend) (stylized in all caps) is a Filipino boy band formed in 2020 by Viva Artists Agency and Ninuno Media. The group consists of six members: Taneo, Mo, Jao, Tomás, R-Ji and Alas. The members hail from different regions of the Philippines and sing in their own respective languages. [1]
As of May 2021, The group consists of 45 members. Among these members are the Kenkyuusei (Japanese: 研究生) or Research Students. Members leaving the group are considered "graduates" and are sometimes given a special graduation show or graduation concert. There are also cases where a member resigns, is dismissed, or gets terminated.
Lim started his musical career on November 5, 2020, when he was introduced to the public through the Alamat Facebook page as 'Trainee 6' with the codename 'Sangkay' ("Friend" in the Waray-Waray language). On February 14, 2021, after training for nine months, he debuted as an official member of Alamat with the name R-Ji in their debut single "kbye".
