Elephant is a 1989 British short film directed by Alan Clarke and produced by Danny Boyle.The film is set in Northern Ireland during the Troubles and its title comes from Bernard MacLaverty's description of the conflict as "the elephant in our living room" — a reference to the collective denial of the underlying social problems of Northern Ireland.

Robert Boyle FRS [2] (/ b ɔɪ l /; 25 January 1627 – 31 December 1691) was an Anglo-Irish [3] natural philosopher, chemist, physicist, alchemist and inventor. Boyle is largely regarded today as the first modern chemist, and therefore one of the founders of modern chemistry, and one of the pioneers of modern experimental scientific method.
Boyle was born in Lackenagh, near Burtonport, County Donegal, in 1898. His interest in Irish history, particularly Joseph Plunkett in the 1916 Easter Rising, gained him the nickname 'Plunkett'.
