Paramecium are adaptive to many environments due to the diastole and systole movements of the contractile vacuole, which either let in or expel water from the cytoplasm depending on the environment. The micronucleus and macronucleus together contain all of the genetic information for the organism.

Paramecium (/ ˌ p ær ə ˈ m iː s (i) ə m / PARR-ə-MEE-s(ee-)əm, /-s i ə m /-see-əm, plural "paramecia" only when used as a vernacular name) [2] is a genus of eukaryotic, unicellular ciliates, widespread in freshwater, brackish, and marine environments. Paramecia are often abundant in stagnant basins and ponds.
It is composed of 270 bones at the time of birth, [2] but later decreases to 206: 80 bones in the axial skeleton and 126 bones in the appendicular skeleton. 172 of 206 bones are part of a pair and the remaining 34 are unpaired. [3] Many small accessory bones, such as sesamoid bones, are not included in this.
A typical example of a ciliated microorganism is the Paramecium, a one-celled, ciliated protozoan covered by thousands of cilia. The cilia beating together allow the Paramecium to propel through the water at speeds of 500 micrometers per second.
Paramecium aurelia [1] are unicellular organisms belonging to the genus Paramecium of the phylum Ciliophora. [2] They are covered in cilia which help in movement and feeding. [ 2 ] Paramecium can reproduce sexually , asexually , or by the process of endomixis . [ 3 ]
