The F20C and F22C1 were inline-4 engines produced by Honda for use in the Honda S2000. They are one of the few Honda 4-cylinder automobile engines that are designed to sit longitudinally for rear wheel drive. These engines are a distant relative to the F-series engines found in the mid-1990s Honda Accord and Prelude. [1]
This engine was a radical departure from previous F engines, and only shared basic dimensions such as bore spacing. It was designed specifically for the Honda S2000 and shares some engineering with the Honda K engine. A long-stroke F22C1 variant was also produced.
The engine (codenamed F20C) generates power outputs of 177–184 kW (241–250 PS; 237–247 hp), and 208–218 N⋅m (153–161 lbf⋅ft) of torque depending on the target market. [12] The engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission and Torsen limited-slip differential. The S2000 achieved what Honda claimed as the highest specific ...
The eighth-generation Honda Civic is a range of compact cars manufactured by Honda between 2005 and 2012, replacing the seventh-generation Civic.Four body styles were introduced throughout its production run, which are sedan, coupe, and both three-door and five-door hatchback.
In the 1950s, Ford introduced a three-tier approach to engines, with small, mid-sized, and larger engines aimed at different markets. All of Ford's mainstream V8 engines were replaced by the overhead cam Modular family in the 1990s and the company introduced a new large architecture, the Boss family, for 2010.
The engine was water-cooled with nose-mounted radiators. The engine dimensions of the 1965 48-valve V12 were 58.1 x 47.0 mm, 1,495.28 cc. Power output of 230 bhp (170 kW) @ 13,000 rpm was quoted—this was the most powerful F1 engine of 1965. The engine was safe to 14,000 rpm.
The F20/F21 was initially powered by inline-four petrol, inline-four diesel and inline-six petrol engines. In 2015, inline-three petrol and diesel engines were added to the model range. All engines are turbocharged. Unlike most hatchback competitors, the F20/F21 uses a rear-wheel drive (rather than front-wheel drive) for most models.
The ten-cylinder 10DC engines share the dimensions of the 8DC series and were first seen in 1974, in the heavy-duty F-series trucks. 10DC6 – 18,608 cc, 375 PS (276 kW) at 2500 rpm. 10DC8 – 18,608 cc, 375–380 PS (276–279 kW), direct injection, torque is 130 kg⋅m (1,275 N⋅m; 940 lb⋅ft) for the 375PS version, Mitsubishi Fuso F-series .
