By 1634, the English colony of Virginia consisted of eight shires or counties with a total population of approximately 5,000 inhabitants. Warwick River Shire took its name from Robert Rich, second Earl of Warwick and a prominent member of the Virginia Company. Warwick River Shire became Warwick County in 1643. [1]

It includes the house and grounds of Compton Wynyates, and extends to the north-east and south-west of the house, with a size of roughly 3.5 by 0.5 miles (6 km × 0.8 km). The parish has an area of 1,038 acres (420 ha).
Baddesley Clinton is a village and civil parish in Warwickshire, England, [1] about 5 + 1 ⁄ 2 miles (9 km) southeast of Solihull.The village has Anglo-Saxon origins. It is believed that at some point it was settled by an Anglo-Saxon called Baeddi, Badde or Bade as a clearing in the Forest of Arden to graze cattle.
