Taraba State University also known as TSU is located in Jalingo, Taraba State Nigeria.The university was established by the Taraba State Government in 2008, to widen access to university education for Taraba State indigenes and promote economic growth and development in the state particularly and the country at large.

Sunday Paul Bako began his career as a graduate assistant in 1987 at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. In 2006, he was promoted to the rank of Professor. Before his appointment as the Vice Chancellor of Taraba State University, Jalingo, he was the Vice Chancellor of Kwararafa University, Wukari. [1]
Vincent Ado Tenebe started as a graduate assistant in 1984 at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University. In 1988, he was made the head of the university farm. [5] In 1995, he became the head of the department of Crop Production of the institution. In 2003, he became a professor of agronomy at the African University of Science and Technology, Bauchi. [5]

Jalingo is the capital city of Taraba State in north-eastern Nigeria, named in fulfulde (the word Jalingo means "superior place") and has been estimated with population of 418,000 as of 2018, The city has received the highest number of immigrants mainly from, Kano, Borno, Gombe and the neighboring Cameroon
